Mission Initiatives

Everyone is invited to volunteer to help carry out our mission work! Announcements are made during Sunday Service for specific opportunities to get involved and may also be communicated via the church email. If you are interested in being on a team, please notify the church

The Missions Team sponsors Happy Meals (monthly) and Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup. Other mission projects include helping at the Food Pantry in Bracey. A signup sheet is on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.

We also provide Helping Hands for those who need some assistance with yard work, minor home repairs, rides to Dr's appointments, treatment programs, and wellness visits . This church can always be counted on to step up when special needs occur like response to disasters such as hurricanes as well as a special need in our community.

Our church is a sponsor for Holly Haven Adult Home in La Crosse. We collect and deliver food monthly they depend upon it and for which they are eternally grateful. The collection area at church is a box in the Narthex. If you prefer, you can contribute money and someone will shop for you. Make check payable to PUMC, note it is for Holly Haven and feel free to put it in the offering plate. We also provide Christmas presents for the residents and staff via the Angel Tree put up in the Narthex in early December.

Food Baskets are assembled and distributed to local families during Holidays to let them know they are loved and not forgotten. These Food Baskets are donations from the congregation and friends of Prospect and are very much appreciated by the families who receive them.

Through the UMM partner affiliation, the church supports the Society of St. Andrew - America's premier food rescue and distribution network which is connected with Gleaning. The "nickel jar" that sits on the altar rail is our means of collecting donations from the congregation that are sent in monthly. Each Sunday you may see folks putting nickels and other amounts in the jar during Sunday Service. An easy way to support a wonderful mission. One nickel provides one meal! We also participate in the Gleaning activities to harvest food from the fields.

Through our Ambulatory Adaptive Equipment Program, we help those with mobility issues.

We support Kairos Prison Ministry - Inside Weekend with a November cookie bake.

Both the UMW and UMM are also mission-oriented organizations.
